"Do we have a president?" |
Honorable ladies and gentlemen, it may seem a profanity to wake up in the morning and the foremost statement you take notice of is someone asking you, “Do we have a president in Malawi?” Fair enough mental infirmity as it sounds. With due reverence, having a state president is not all about having that presidential seat occupied, neither it is moving around the globe begging nor being the most powerful but non -substantial personality . Being a state president is not only having a big shot executing national responsibility but also serving for the general interest of the poor populace in majority and someone who is able to make a sound verdict when it comes to matters of national interest. How I wish my wish could set apart the twist of fate we have at hand.
I beseech you esteem Malawians to think contrary and beyond the horizon in a flash and save the mess of thinking that we have the president;
1. Only if Malawi had a president, there was no way a cross the country our taps could run dry for months with the whole Ministry of water and irrigation sitting idle at the helm of the OPC while Malawians are suffering and finding it hard on sanitary issues .
2. Only if Malawi had a president, there was no way new born and their mothers could be dying in government hospitals while on oxygen due to load shedding coincidentally hospitals having no power backup genset for emergency yet someone goes by preaching of safe motherhood with no resources and the Ministry of Health watches by and celebrate those errors of reasoning.
3. Only if Malawi had a president, there was no way someone could sell our presidential jet just to buy us some “Kamba puffs” and “Jigisi” to trick you that they care while few people are busy fattening their accounts with these same money meant for you and me under privileged Malawians.
4. Only if Malawi had a president, there was no way someone could spend millions of taxpayers money laying useless stones across the country for maternity wings when there are no essential drugs and no fuel to backup the existing power backup system in the already existing health facilities instead of solving the already existing challenges.
5. Only if Malawi had a president, I tell you there was no where someone could conceal evidence of the shooters of the Budget Director instead of cooperating with the police to apprehend those culprits and bring them before justice and instead watches them taking the law into their hands while they continue plundering the resources of the already poor and developing nation.
6. Only if Malawi had a president, there were no way senior party officials and cabinet ministers could be implicated in the purchasing of the voters cards which are so sensitive and will determine the outcomes of the next years General election and yet these people are walking free in the corridors of OPC and their Boss protecting them with their Tax money.
7. Only if Malawi had a president, there was no way families could survive with a 10 kg of maize ration introduced in our ADMARC depots under the authority of the top most boss backed up with unreasonable ministry of agriculture and information after failing to stock up grain in our silos instead of finding long lasting solutions to the problem they are busy trying to killing one another for their selfishness and love of the coffers plunder.
8. Only if Malawi had a president, there was no way Malawians could be suffering in Tanzania when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sits idles when our relatives are being abused and harassed in bordering nation yet the OPC is there continuing feasting the taxpayers money as nobodies business.
9. Only if Malawi had a president, there was no way that someone could allow ESCOM buy vehicles with billions of kwacha’s and later accord Malawians with blackouts slowing down industrial growth and economic development.
10. Only if Malawi had a president, there was no way someone could continue partying, taking pictures, buying fame and spend the hard earned tax payers money in a foreign land when things in Malawi are completely out of hand and the lives of Malawians continuing to deteriorate, the local currency continuing to depreciate yet sits and beliefs to some lies that we have stabilized.
Am always straight to my point that I remain “Magede Si Wandale” and I have good reasons why I say so. Believe it or not but I am not a critic to the government as most of you think .The most problem with most of us is that when we are in power, we think that its better and always rights to please those people who put us in power even if that means millions of Malawians suffering or messing everything . It a shame that we can sacrifice our time lying under oath just to please these leaders and pretending that things are okay when for sure our country is stinking and worse than it was.
Once again, ”Do we have a president in Malawi”.
