GOVERNMENT ISSUES A WARRANT OF ARREST FOR OSWARD FYWEL GIDEON LUTEPO.

Warrant of arrest for Lutepo

With the documents in our possession, a warrant of arrest has been issued for Mr. Osward Lutepo and   we can confirm. Before the Chief Residence Magistrate court sitting in Lilongwe, Mr. Lutepo is reasonably suspected to have committed some offences under the corruption act and the penal code.

According to the information we have, on 26^th August 2013.Mr Lutepo in the city of Lilongwe induced Chazika Munthali and Frank Mwanza to perform public duties corruptly by inducing the said officers to process payment of MK 361,834,176.00 to international Procurement Services as if the International Procurement Services had supplied services to the Office of the President and cabinet.

Mr. Lutepo will be charged with Inducing public officers to perform duties corruptly contrary to section 25A (2) of the Corruption Practices Act. This comes a day after the state president of the Republic of Malawi Joyce Banda said she will deal with everyone connected in the looting and corrupt malpractices that have resulted in billions of Kwacha being found in Peoples houses recently.
