JOYCE BANDA TO ELEVATE T.A CHIMALIRO AND THOMASI OF THYOLO TO SENIOR CHIEFS TODAY.

Just a day after President of the Republic of Malawi Madam Joyce Nanda told Bishop Mtumbula to take a break and delegate some of the jobs he does. Our president seems to be good at advising alone and not following what she advices others.

The Malawi observer through Magede Si Wandale can confirm that president Joyce Banda will be in Thyolo today, the home district of Late Bingu Wa Muthalika and the incumbent DPP leader. According to our sources, Joyce Banda is expected to arrive in Thyolo by 10 AM today. The elevation of the Chiefs will be conducted at Thyolo Community Ground the hub of Thyolo District whose Member of Parliament is Kingsley  Namakhwa  of Thyolo Central.

To put on record,   In the Malawi news of Saturday 3rd August, 2013. Some chiefs from Thyolo including T.A Chimaliro were quoted saying that they were not happy with the elevation of other chiefs and just a day after that publication. Today on 5th August 2013, the state president Madam Joyce Banda is expected to be in Thyolo where she is to elevate Traditional Authority Thomasi and Chimaliro to Senior Chiefs.

In a time where Malawi is going through economic hardships, instead of cost cutting to withstand  the current situation, our state presidents is increasing the costs  of administration by elevating more Traditional Authorities to Senior Chiefs across  the country .This means a lot of money has to be pumped in for salaries and other logistics for these people.  It could have been much better if the state presidents could concentrate   on improving the availability of medicine and fuel in the hospitals and work on the strategies to get with the hunger that has yet struck the Nation that these elevation of Chiefs that will only benefit few People and for that matter loyal to the ruling People’s Party.

In addition to that, Joyce Banda is travelling too much. At least she has to trim a number of her trips at t to suit with the state Malawi is in economically. It does not make sense at all to tell a rural Malawians that Malawi is in economic mess when the state presidents is moving up and down everyday enjoying  a fat pocket of allowances in the name of development rally and transforming the poor when yet a poor Malawian finds it hard to survive.
