STOP POLITICKING, PETER MUTHALIKA IS RIGHT ON LAKE MALAWI.

Esteemed Malawians, again and again I keep on saying that matters of National interest needs to be treated seriously and with sober minds. As of present, Malawi is in serious problems that require the efforts from both the opposition parties and the ruling People’s Party to work together for the common good of every Malawian. Instead of standing in solidarity, the contrary is happening where every matter, action and word from the opposition leaders are being politicized instead of getting the insight to help sort some of the challenges we are all facing.

From observations, it has been noted that on 3rd August, 2013. The DPP president Professor Peter Muthalika was conducting a whistle stop tour in the Central region of Malawi. Among other things that the Muthalika talked about while he was in Salima was the issue of Lake Malawi. In his speech, the professor of Law assured the Malawians that one of the things that need to be looked upon with great consensus was this issue of Lake Malawi wrangle with our Tanzanian counterpart. “There is no need for Malawi as a government to negotiate to who owns the Lake with Tanzania as it already belongs to Malawi”. Just as simple as that.

As a matter of fact, with great concern, I am failing to understand how the speech has been politicized by the Peoples Party followers especially on Social media and being complicated with other matters that are not part and parcel of his speech. It’s unfair to note that some Orange intellectuals have misquoted the DPP leader by saying he has declared war with Tanzania in case DPP bounces back to power in 2014.This is very unfortunate and unacceptable in our society.

The DPP leader is 100% very right. Yes, Malawi owns the Lake and there is no need for the country to waste its time referring the matter to SADC, ICC you name it. The matter is straight forward and very much clear with evidence available that Lake Malawi is for Malawians and not Tanzanians. Referring the matter for arbitration is just a sign that the Peoples Party has failed to handle the matter unless otherwise there is some sort of gambling.

In case you forgot, I remain Magede Si Wandale and if Orange intellectuals aren’t good enough to withstand the pressure from Peter Muthalika better join him than behave like kids.
