SOMETHING OUT OF ORDER |
Nyasatimes Article “Smokes-And-Mirrors-Unpacking-The-Paul-Mphwiyo-Saga” Raising More Questions Than Answers.
As the chronicle of the assassination attempt to Mr. Patrick Mphiyo continues making circulation in the media fraternity and receiving mixed reactions. I’m off to disagree with some speculations and conclude that there is a semi part of the story which has not been told as the State president has not made her stand bearing in mind her recent public articulation that she knows of the shooters to this 37 years old gentleman and why the gunfire took place.
Bearing that in mind, on 18th September 2013, the whole story changed with the publishing of an article “Smokes-And-Mirrors-Unpacking-The-Paul-Mphwiyo-Saga” by Nyasatimes. As a matter of fact, this article is misleading and trying to retract the attention of Malawians from knowing the truth by believing the other side of this man’ life which has been no where all along until the occurrence of this incident .Factually, I will rather address whole article(“Smokes-And-Mirrors-Unpacking-The-Paul-Mphiyo-Saga” by Nyasatimes) as a work of the mercenary trying to implicate Paul Mphwiyo in shady connections than what he was shot for as per the state president say-(waiting from the state president to know the facts).
Ladies and gentlemen, if indeed what the writer (Mizaya Singileti) has written is true, how come the state president Joyce Banda knew the shooter? I am so mystified and so your are because the writer is giving us an account that there is a high probability that Mphwiyo was shot as a result of his “reckless life” than what the police or the president know of the matter.
In a flash if I may wish to know, what is the relationship between Mphwiyo and JB that she knows so much about this Mphwiyo’ personal life? Observing and analyzing the article, this critique is disturbing and trying to divert people’s mind from getting to know what really happened. Is it because of his personal endeavors?
In addition to that brethren, If the article and its author are really very true of what they have told us, how did JB knew the shooters and probably the reasons behind the shooting? How I wish the Human Rights groups would intervene on this matter of national significance which is seeming so much confusing? Following the narrative, the writer seems to know more of what happened on this day “his writing is so detailed” and for the sake of justice and seeking to help the government and all of us know the truth of the matter, how I wish the police team with the author Mizaya Singileti and question him as he may also be in a good position to account of the events that followed before the shooting of this senior civil servant.
Something is cooking on my mind, why should the writer bother on figuring out who wanted to kill Mphwiyo when the first citizen has all the information on the ones who wanted to kill Mphwiyo and why? Should we conclude that the author of the article “Smokes-And-Mirrors-Unpacking-The-Paul-Mphwiyo-Saga” by Nyasatimes is also an interested party or may have taken part in one or two things concerning the whole saga? Just to put on record of my curiosity, this reminds me of the CHASOWA SAGA, a statement comparable to this one was released when the Chasowa incident occurred. Sorry I will not go off track, I have my reservations on this article.
Honestly, on a serious note, It hurts me when I see Nyasatimes writing disorganized things (like the article “Smokes-And-Mirrors-Unpacking-The-Paul-Mphwiyo-Saga” ) that would eventually cost their credibility. In Malawi as a fact , this is the only online news that we trust and I would argue you(Nyasatimes) to act as leaders and not followers in the media industry. We trust you, but we have heads to analyze things, so give us the best but when you twist facts with fallacies, Malawians will doubt of your integrity .Looking forward to the first citizen stand on the matter and possible action on those who are involved in the whole story disregarding their status or stand in the society.
