PEOPLES PARTY VERSUS VOTERS IN THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.

BY: Magede Si Wandale.

Winning a general election isn’t about ones man show, seldom that easy, barely as simple as taking over the leadership when the incumbent is unable to execute duties or dead as the scenario was in Malawi April 2012.Neither its all about distributing maize, enjoying the state run broadcast airplay, implementing party based developmental projects, gaining the donors confidence, political handouts, attacking critics nor being shielded by being the ruling Party.

Winning an election is like a crucial race, assessment of Peoples Party in the general elections will be determined by their conduct in the 2 years not only stressing the good part of them but also the shortfalls the party has made .Malawians are likely to play against  Peoples Party  in the ballot box with the  following line up:
  • Rotting maize on paper  when the Malawians were dying for it
  • Devaluating the kwacha and the cost of living becoming very high
  • Distributing sand instead of fertilizer for FISP
  • Rampant Corruption of top government officials
  • Awarding of contracts without following procedures
  • Buying ministers cars when the hospitals had no drugs
  • A lot of unnecessary foreign trip when the country run out of money
  • Distribution of  10 kgs of maize  flour when charitable organizations exist in the country
  • Insulting the opposition on podiums at the expense of taxpayers money
  • The presidents intervening with procurement as if there are no IPC within the government system
  • Social insecurity where people have been robbed cut private parts, butchered.
  • Party officials and loyalists vandalizing the opposition flags and property when they enjoy  the incumbency
  • Abusing the state run MBC and degrading of its productions
  • Being the most mobile president in the history  of Malawi within a short period of time gaining her political favor than her countries economical development
  • Termination of contracts with no valid reasons or political affiliation differences wasting more of taxpayers money
  • Over spending with billions of Kwacha and failing to account for a lot of taxpayers money within a year
  • Being the puppet to the west who cannot make her own decision than being remote controlled by the western countries
  • Denying to sign a press freedom declaration
  • Attacking the media for writing or reporting the ills of your government
  • Closure of learning institution due to financial problems.
  • Wasting taxpayers money on the treason case when Malawians lavished with poverty

Surely the  Peoples Party with such a line up, Malawians are likely to boot the ruling Peoples Party out of  power come 2014.
