MALAWI YOUTH PARLIAMENTARIAN CALLS FOR THE ACQUIESCENCE OF LABOUR MINISTER.

The youths of Malawi have demanded the resignation of the Minister of Labor Honorable Eunice Makangala. The Malawi Observer can reveal the development. During the deliberations on 1st August 2013, a controversial Law student cum youth parliamentarian Osman Kennedy gathered the strength and spoke on behalf of over 7 million Malawian youths by moving a motion to call for the resignation of the minister.

In his auditorium, the youthful lawmaker said,” as you may wish to recall on the ongoing as regards to the so much talked Labor exportation deal, as a concerned youth standing on behalf millions of youths out of this chamber, I am giving 20 days of ultimatum to the labor minister to apologize to the youth of Malawi for fooling them on the labor deal. In such a case that the minister fails to apologize, it will be much better if the Minister of labor immediately resign from her position for seriously breaching public trust. I would like to make it clear that if the Honorable Minister Eunice Makangala fails to conform to this, surely the youths of the country will go to the streets to show their dissatisfaction and anger with the minister.

As a matter of fact, there are lots of issues requiring the attention of the government concerning the youths of Malawi. It’s very unfortunate that instead of our leaders especially politicians to take part in empowering the youths, the best accolade they can give them is use them as political tools for their gain. ” My fellow youths, I want to argue politicians in Malawi to stop politicking issues to do with the youth, there is great need for our  leaders  especially the politicians to  appreciate and understand   the role the youths of Malawi can play towards  development of Malawi  and distinguish politics from development.”

In Malawi, with a population of over 15 million people. It’s almost 70 % of the whole population that has been composed by the youths. It’s not a fallacy that a given a chance, the youths of Malawi can play an important role to develop the country.
