Malawi’ Security situation has worsened –citizens no more protected.

  For the past three months (July to September 2013).The business community and most of Malawians have been living in fear of losing their lives and property following the rampant social security that is being experiences by the nation. It is no more secure in Malawi as the culprits have gone viral now.

Among the numerous incidents that have occurred just from July to till today 22^nd September 3013,the serious and worrisome incidents include;

1.       12^TH JULY, 2013.

48 years old Zhou Feing who was a Chinese national businessman was owning a cooking oil company in Mapanga was shot dead when he was following robbers who stormed his company and went out with some cash.

2.       12^TH AUGUST, 2013.

91 years old Meria Chisena of Traditional Authority Mlumbe in Zomba was found dead in her compound and when she was taken to Zomba Central Hospital, postmortem results showed that she was raped before the culprits killed her.

3.       12^TH SEPTEMBER, 2013.

37 years old Paul Mphwiyo serving as the Budget Director in the Ministry of Finance was shot buy thugs   when he was entering his residential area in area 43 a low density location in the Capital city of Malawi-Lilongwe in what is believed to be an assassination attempt. As of now the man is battling for his live in Milpark Hospital - South Africa with so many revelation and developments arising to his shooting.

4.       8^TH SEPTEMBER, 2013.

40 years old George Matola until his death was the Headmaster for Namiwawa Private school was pronounced dead at Mwaiwathu Private Hospital after he  was attacked by armed robbers at his home who took him to the school premises where he collapsed before the robbers went out with 3 desktop Computers,1 i Pad and one cell phone. It is alleged that the robbers wanted some cash which they did not manage to go out with.

5.       3^rd JULY, 2013.

Armed robbers attacked Mzuzu –Malawi Electoral Commission Offices where they went away with a laptop, MK 130.000 cash and some soft wares which are used by this electoral body before they terrorized some residents of Mzuzu and stole a vehicle.

6.       7^th AUGUST, 2013.

Armed robbers claimed two lives of 63 and 79 aged watchmen who worked for Kasungu Assemblies Of God before they went out with MK 78.000.

7.       19^TH SEPTEMBER, 2013.

Father Charles of Mangochi Diocese was stubbed by thugs at Namwera Parish where he was to conduct mass and as of now the Man of God is also battling for his life.

8.       AUGUST 2013.

Still in this month of August, some armed robbers stormed Luchenza Municipal where they stole a car and robbed Luchenza Petroda filling station where they went away with MK 420.000 before they robbed Thyolo Peoples Shop and went away with MK 390.000 cash.

9.       17^TH SEPTEMBER, 2013.

The Malawi Post Corporation was robbed by armed robbers who went away computers and assorted item, within a period of 3 months, several organizations and institutions residing in the premises of MPC have been victims to incidents of the same nature.

Since Joyce Banda became the Chief of the Malawi Police Services, the home security system has been compromised and turned a feast for robbers, corrupters, rapist and thugs putting lives of Malawians and foreigners at a great risk as well affecting the business community with possibilities of slowing down economic development.

There is need for the state President as the Chief of the police with the Inspector General to do something as this is posing a big threat to Malawians.
